She is tall and beautiful but sometimes she doesn't see it. Happy and hurting,I miss her so but one thing I know. In my eyes she will always be my baby.
I knew her first then she met someone else who called her baby. I wanted to help her, if only to hold her. It hurt so bad but it was out of my control.
I would wait for her to call, then I would listen. My tears would fall for her and my heart would break. It only made me love her more; she will always be my baby.
Forsaken by her family, I claimed her as my own. I haven't seen her for so long it seems like she's gone. I love her with all my heart. Somewhere along the road I had to let go but still, she will always be my baby.
She makes me smile every time I hear her voice. She has so much to bring to this world, I hope she can see that. Her life holds so much potential and so many great things are in her future.
Through all the ups and downs, as things change and we grow old, we move on and go our own ways, through it all remember that you, beautiful girl, will always be my baby.

Monopoly
"Please, come on, let's play a board game" I finally agreed to a game of Monopoly and I learned something. Something clicked, I had a revelation
Children are so fragile and we are all children. Life is so precious, innocence often diminished. Children of all ages, are often taken for granted. No matter how old you are you will always be a child.
Often it's forgotten, what is really needed. Just to be held or accepted is a luxury for some. Don't get too old that you forget what it's like to be a child. It is said to remember the days of your youth, your carefree days. Love given freely and trust always there. Remember what it's like to look forward to your future.
Life is precious, fragile and sweet. It is important to remember these things as we get caught up in the maturity that life sometimes demands. Remember you're never too old to play Monopoly.

These Days
These days things are different
These days are good, some bad
These days are beautiful, less and less sad
Who we become, who we are, we owe to these days
These days make us stronger, put the light in our eyes
These days bring distractions and also big surprise
These days we remember those days and think they were better
Where we are now and how far we've come we owe to those days
These days is where we are now, these days we don't give in
These days we appreciate, cause we know where we've been
These days things are different, these days are beautiful

Wondering, Wishing and Waiting
I Wonder what tomorrow brings, Wishing it is something new
Waiting for the dawn to break or the light to seep through
I'm Waiting for the future, Wondering about now
Wishing I could undo the past, I know somehow
That while I Wait and Wonder a Wish can not change
Wishing is a hopeful game with which we rearange
Ourlives here, we want there and what they have, we Wish for
Why do we spend our lives Waiting when we could have so much more?
Don't you ever Wonder what happened to the present
Condemned for causeing trouble, into hell they sent it
And while we Wait and Wonder, our Wish not comming true
The present, though condemned, is sitting right beside you
Tomorrow's gone, next to go is today
No one has to give you permission, no one needs to say
But somehow you still feel obligated to sit here and Wait
Waiting for the dawn to break or the light to seep through
I'm Waiting for the future, Wondering about now
Wishing I could undo the past, I know somehow
That while I Wait and Wonder a Wish can not change

Here I Stand in the Rain
With all I've wanted so close, between Here and There I choose
And though its hard for some to understand
I'll try to put in to words, whats on my mind
The only thing greater than healing, is helping the hurt through their pain
And nothing you say will discourage me, cause maybe only you can't see
This is who I am, right Here is where I want to be
Sometimes it hurts to see others, more often than not I don't understand
But to me it's worth trying to comprehend
That girl in the corner tries to cover the hurt behind her eyes, but I see
The hardest part is knowing there's nothing I can do
Only let her know that she is loved and things will get better sometime soon
If you ever need me I'm Here
I've said it so many times, but it never comes off my lips untrue
It's not just a saying to help them get by, most of the time they're too shy
This is okay cause I know, how hard it is to let go
All I can offer is a willing heart,a smile and a listening hear
Though some days I want to give up, I remeber my love for the broken and hurt
This is my passion, this is where I want to be, Here
Maybe things will change down the road,
I'm not sure, I'm not god
I can't fix a broken heart and I can't heal the pain
But my desires is love and care so Here is where I am
Here is where I want to be, Here I stand in the rain.

Change
I never really realized how much life changes. You move on, they move on,you grow up, get old and before you know it your future is right there, like a blank canvas just waiting to be filled with color. The future is mine to paint but at the same time I have seemingly no control over who or what I paint on the canvas of my life.
Life is just leading me taking me places...some I never want to return to but there is where I have learned my greates lessons. I'm excited and at the same time terrified of what's ahead. But mostly excited.
I was reminded, the other day, of a beautiful little girl who taught me a great lesson. She had been through some pretty hard times in her young life. She had many tears and much pain, but I never would have known had she not told me. Her smile and bright eyes brought me joy and encouragement every time I saw her!
With her sweet spirit and kind words you would never know the loss she felt. She taught and showed me that like a rainbow after a storm, or her smile after her tears, joy always, always follows pain. I remember this as I face the unknown, afraid and unsure I can follow the path ahead where ever it may lead, knowing that no matter what life brings, joy, peace, love...all we hope for and dream for...it's just around the corner!

Blind Eyes
How do the little things pass us by? Why are we so consumed with our lives and what we're going through that we can't see the others hurting around us? We must open our blind eyes, open our hearts to others.
I think the bigest place that people's struggles, people's pain is overlooked is in the church. I think that many assume that if someone claims to believe in god that they are always ok. But the truth is they're not, and the reason they show up on Sunday mornings is so that someone may see their hurt or their pain.
People come to church, bible beliving christians, new age belivers and everyone in between because church is where they expect to find love and understanding, a place they can be accepted. The sad thing is many of us who go to church are preoccupied with our own problems that we aren't able to see, our eyes are closed and we are blinded to the opportunities to love and accept others. In the end we end up pushing many further away, and they are left hurt more deeply.
May god open not only the eyes of the church but also the eyes of every individual to see, to hear..."Does anybody see her, does anybody hear? Does anybody even know she's going down today...under the shadow of the steeple, all the lost and lonley people"
